David Hein is a professional freelance journalist, focusing mainly on Sports, especially international basketball, European soccer and baseball. David has written for various news agencies such as Associated Press - AP, Press Association - PA, and the German Press Agency - dpa as well as leading world basketball organisations like FIBA, FIBA Europe and Euroleague.

He has reported live from two Winter Olympics (2002 and 2006), the 2007 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, two soccer World Cups (2002 and 2006), two basketball World Championships (2002 and 2006), three basketball men's European Championships (2003, 2005, 2007), the 2007 women's basketball European Championship and numerous youth basketball European Championships. He also also covered live other sports such as tennis, athletics, indoor hockey and winter sports.

David has written for various newspapers in the U.S., such as the Detroit Free Press, Des Moines Registers, Peoria Journal Star, Arizona Republic, Dekalb Chronicle, Syracuse Post-Standard and Provo, UT Daily Herald among others.

David lives with his wife in Regensburg, a town in southern Germany nestled along the Donau River between Nuremberg and Munich.
